production diary 3

Today I set out to my location with everything i needed. For example, i have all the props like the bandana and knife. I also have the correct clothes that i had for my production: coat, jumper, tracks etc. It was around 10am that i started my filming, I did the exact same movements as i did last week filming. For example, i took lots of different shots over the course of one sense. Therefore in post production I can pick the most natural shot for my scene to be shot from. I did this for the majority of the day filming inside and outside getting the most shots possible to make a smooth production. i started my production at around 10 and then finished at around 5ish. Today i had a lot of fun filming as much of my film as I could. I think as soon as i upload my rushes to my laptop i will start editing what i have made today. I will blog next time i finish todays editing.

Sound - Research

Today I have been looking around youtube and the internet for non-copyrighted music that I could use behind my production.  I wanted very thrilling distorted music to put behind my production. therefore, my audiences becomes more involved in my production. I have found some non copyrighted music that I can use to build suspense in my product. The music are: ' Unseen Horror', scary musical sound effect and suspenseful background music. I also took some non copyrighted foley sounds to make the production sound a lot of natural. for example, I downloaded '10 min ULTIMATE SLEEP relaxation forrest'.
Now that I have these sounds my production should run a lot smoother and my production should come out a lot more natural now.

Production diary number two

Today I started editing my production. I will be using iMovie to edit my production. I am very impressed with the smoothness of my editing that I have done. I am very proud that the amount of takes that I shoot yesturday was very worth it. In the editing software I am able to create very smooth transitions between and in-between each scene. The next time I film my production ( probably later on this week) I will be again shooting many different shoots to create a professional outcome.

production diary number one

Today I filmed the first couple of scenes for my second production. Taking into account what I talked about in my last blog, I wanted to film from as many different angles as possible. I did exactly that. I am actually very proud from the amount of shots I captured today. I filmed for around 4 hours today and I'm hoping when I edit my rushes that it actually all works out okay. From what I've filmed i think that I have created many smooth transitions. I know this because the amount of times I filmed a scene again from 3, 4, 5 different angles. Looking back at my rushes I think i did a good job at filming today. I will be editing the video tomorrow and then hopefully filming the rest of my product at the end of this week.

what will be different?

One thing that i will be doing differently in this production is the amount of angles I will be filming from. I would like to make smooth transitions from shots and I think filming each scene from between 4 and 6 angles would allow me to make natural transitions. I would like to make the viewing for my film as comfortable as possible.

For example, If i only used one angle for each scene, the viewer would quickly feel uncomfortable and would probably get bored watching the production. Therefore, for this production I will be using as many angles as possible to make a smooth comfortable production.

thinking for a change.

I've been recently thinking that my production is very ambitions. I don't like the way that my prediction is heading either. Ive filmed over 6 hours worth of footage and have completed a 5 minute video. however, I do not like the outcome at all. It was very very far off what I have planned.

I have been thinking that a change might be the best thing for me. However, i don't want to change my idea completely. I think the idea with the hooded masked man was an excellent idea. therefor, i might take this decision up and carry on my film with this character in mind.

I will be posting a blog later on this week telling you if I have made my mind up or not.

what I've done so far

this is what I've done in my project so far. There are many aspects of the clip that has not been finished yet. this is just a recap of where I am with my work at this current time.

audience research: 3

I have been using the website SurveyMonkey to create a survey. I made a short survey then posted it via Twitter to get some responses. This is the 2nd question and results.

my audience: number 2

I have been using the website SurveyMonkey to create a survey. I made a short survey then posted it via Twitter to get some responses. This is the 2nd question and results.
As seen from above that 52.63% of my audience watching my final product is at the age of 17 years old. Followed by 16 years of age at 21.05%. Then, in 3rd place 18 years of age at 15.79%. lastly the ages of 15 and below is at 10.53%.

These results tell me that the most likely age to watch my final product is at the age of 17 and above. This will allow me to price a film above 15 rated but will have to step back from the 18 rated film because as seen from my survey that I conducted the majority will be the ages of 17.

my audience : number 1

I have been using the website SurveyMonkey to create a survey. I made a short survey then posted it via Twitter to get some responses. This is the 1st question and results.
My first question is to see what gender is my audience. As you can see from the results above that most of my audience that shall be viewing my product will be male. In fact, more than half the people watching my final product will be male( 63.16%). Followed by female which was 31.58%. another results was other ( which wasn't specified ).

This result tells me that more than half of the people watching my final Product will be intact male. This will allow me to produce more of a gritty film because stereotypical males are into that sort of films.
